So, I am here, working on reading through all the responses from those who answered all the questions I requested of them. I am about ready to start posting them up here to start discussion about getting young kids to read. For a little preview, these are the questions I asked of everyone:
- What is selling well in the young adult & middle grade market?
- What do you do to get the young readers into the store? and what do you do to get them to buy once they are in the store?
- What challenges are you facing within the industry, and how do you deal with them?
- What makes you continue to wake up in the morning and come to your job with a smile on your face?
Everyone has such vastly different, but good answers. Some longer, some shorter and all with interesting tidbits about how individuals are working towards a more literate youth. All of them are fantastic, and I hope you will join in with the conversations over the next posts.
